How It Works
Create Dictadroid Account
To use Dictadroid Transcription Service, you need to download Dictadroid Voice Recorder app and create a Dictadroid Transcription account. The account is free and you do not need to provide any payment information to create it. You just need to provide your name, email, and a password that you would like to use for the account. When you create Dictadroid Transcription account, you will automatically receive a $20 credit to try out the service. This will allow you to transcribe up to 40 minutes of audio.

Upload Audio Files
Once you have downloaded Dictadroid app, you can start creating audio files and submitting them to the transcription service. When uploading audio files to be transcribed, you can choose between a fully automated transcription or have a professional transcriptionist review and correct the transcript. Choose the fully automated option when you want to get the transcript back as soon as possible. The average accuracy of the fully automated option is about 90% and the turnaround time is minutes. Choose the transcriptionist review option when you need better accuracy. The average accuracy of this option is 99% and the turnaround time is about 24-hours.Disclamer: This option is currently available for English language only.
Transcription Options

Turnaround Time
The turnaround time depends on the options selected. When choosing the fully automated option, you can expect to receive that transcript document back in less time than the duration of the audio file. For example, a 30 minute audio file will take less than 30 minutes to transcribe. When choosing the transcriptionist review option, then the turnaround time is about 24 hours.
Accuracy
The accuracy of the transcript document depends on several factors. The most important factor is the quality of the audio file. An audio file with a lot of background noise will typically result in more mistakes in the transcript document than an audio file with little or no background noise. Also, the volume of the speakers plays a huge role. Try to have the speakers close to the microphone when creating the audio files.
